PetroTrend 2019 - conclusions from the panel discussion "Convenience Store - regulations, sales dynamics, directions of changes", moderated by the CEO of the PBS Group, Adam Beniowski:
• + 19.1% sales growth of FMCG products in Poland in the Petrol channel 2018 vs 2017
• sales growth is highly dependent on the location of the station
• you can see a gradual consolidation of the awareness of the availability of "Sunday products" throughout the week
• the challenge is to look for the right assortment and the amount of space allocated for the "Sunday assortment"
• flexibility in identifying and adapting to the mix - Location, Assortment and Shoppers Missions, will be the key to SUCCESS.
Thank you for the wide openness of the participants in the panel – Aleksander Hołoga (Intermarche), Filip Puchalski (Moya), Leszek Jurczak (BP), Konrad Wacławik (Nielsen) & Andrzej Kondys (Circle K).
Many conversations concerned the maximization of the use of changes in purchasing trends in Poland related to the introduction of "Sunday without trade". According to Nielsen, sales of FMCG products in the gas stations channel increased by 19.1% in 2018. In the next two years there will be more Sundays without trade, and the stations will have more impulses to increase sales. We talked to our clients about that, as well as about other topics, among others with Michał Ciszek, vice president of Circle K Europe.
We were very pleased to talk about the needs and challenges of the petrol station industry. Meetings with our clients were particularly nice, including with Mr. Adam Pawłowicz, Vice President of the Board of Lotos.
